    • RE: Calendar Not Loading

@christopherm No, I don’t think I solved it. I actually left that work so didn’t need it anymore.

have you checked your output for errors? I was getting the same error as shown in this thread: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/256/typeerror-curr-start-toisostring-is-not-a-function
I assume it was the same issue, something todo with a bad ics file.

    • RE: Alerts not showing?

@Jopyth said in Alerts not showing?:

@clumsy_ninja Have look at the documentation: You need to set welcome_message in the config (a string).

The documentation says it has a default value so I didn’t enter one. I manually entered a startup message and it showed so all good. Thanks.

@MichMich Is this a documentation error that should be corrected? or not working properly?

    • Alerts not showing?

I’ve never seen the default alert module show anything and just wondering if its working. The documentation supposedly says it shows a default message on startup but I don’t see it?

My config.js just has the module name as shown in the example config.

    • RE: Yet Another Voice Module (Sphinx + Alexa)

@d3r Thanks. I’ve been looking at AlexaPi and i’m not sure how similar the code is but i did notice is has led’s indicating the status (listening, processing, speaking).
      https://github.com/alexa-pi/AlexaPi

What i really want to achieve is a module for the mirror which shows the visual feedback with a microphone icon and also show the GUI cards alexa service returns. Problem is I’m not sure how to make this hahah I’m only use to writing in C and Java.

@whyjustin What kind of visual feedback does it display on the mirror?

    • RE: Alexa Goes Handsfree!

I’m really interested in adding voice control, especially a solution provided by amazon or google with good recognition.
I can see in the video above alexa can answer all sorts of questions but how can this be incorporated into magic mirror to do thing like restart, show and hide modules, etc?

Also, how would alexa get information about things like the current location to give travel times etc?

I guess the end goal would be to have other modules controlling things like lighting (phillips hue?) and using the voice control to turn it on/off & change colour as an example.

    • RE: Two way mirror suppliers - Australia!

@tgriffo Thanks, I can see them now. It looks better than I thought a film would actually.

I bought this film the other day, should have it this week.

Apparently they use it in dance studios etc where mirror is too expensive so i’m hoping it works quite well. I’ll be sure to post the results.

    • RE: Calendar Not Loading

@tajno the URL is cut off at the “$” sign in the config file because that is how nano displayed it when i copied it. I have double checked it has a ->'<- at the end.

@bhepler Again, cut off with the $, sorry. The one in my log file is anonymised, it has the company name changed as I can’t post that calendar URL publicly.

    • RE: Calendar Not Loading

@andrewchumchal Sorry, the link does, its just been cut off from how nano has displayed it.
If i do a wget or curl I get the file just fine.

@tgriffo are you able to send me some photos or try posting them again?
I’m trying to decide if the quality is good enough with the film or if I should drop the $220 for glass mirror.
