@swvalenti I get the background map when I use that in my line and it works fine. But when I try to substitute the .de with .us or with .org (the original) I get no background map. All else staying the same.

@drippyer Well I left it as the stock value but I’m still not getting the background map. I see indications of rain but no map to see where the rain is falling. I have tried to use other maps also but still no background map on my RAIN-MAP

    • MMM-RAIN-MAP

Hi all… I’m trying to put the above module in my MM. I got it all installed ok but when I looked at it I can’t figure out what the line:
      mapUrl: “https://{s}.tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png”,
really means… I find no reference to {s},{z},{x},{y} refers.
I’m guessing x and maybe y are lat. and lon. but what is z? Distance above sea level? and what is the {s} following the https://. I’ve given up… I’ve looked all around including the reference to the other maps available but nowhere is there an explanation. I know I missed it but where is it? Thanks as usual…

I don’t find anyone having problems with MMM-Confucius. I got it installed ok, Got my User _Id and my API number from Stanz. But when I try to run it all I get is “Confucius says …” and it just sit there… Any ideas why I might be having this trouble? Can you point me to a fix? Thanks Dennis

Hi all… Looks like a lot of people are trying this… I’m going for it myself but ran into this problem…
When I try to do the
      git clone https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror.git

      I get the following error.

      N6NG@Main-Computer-in-Ham-Shack MINGW64 /
      $ git clone https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror.git
fatal: could not create work tree dir ‘MagicMirror’: Permission denied
Anyone figured out how to change permissions… sudo isn’t recognized yet.

    • Blank screen when running MM

I have tried to install several modules on my MM. The latest being MMM-NewssFeedTicker. Before I started I had 6 modules on the screen working perfectly. When I put this one in and start MM alI I get is a blank screen with a mouse pointer. I’ve had other modules that I’ve tried to put in and I get the same results. Is it a function of what others I have already installed? Don’t know
Anyone else come across this behavior?
      Thanks

Ok… thanks a lot… Believe it or not, I’m actually learning a lot by being in this group… Not bad for a 76 year old guy… Wish I had started this when I was 50 instead of 74… I’d be very smart now… Well thanks for everything. I’ll now find out how to mark this solved and put that under my belt…

    • RE: Can't start MagicMirror

      Ok Sam… thanks
I resolved the problem by renaming the MagicMirror to oMagicMirror
I then ran the install script again and moved my modules and config directories over from the oMagicMirror to my new one and its working again… If I run into the problem again, I’ll cp the log information to solve it… Right now it’s running ok again…
      Thanks
      Dennis

BTW… what does the Reputation -1 listing on my homepage mean… it doesn’t sound good… What caused that and how do I fix it?
      Thanks again…
