      @mumblebaj Nice!
Can I configure it to delete some infos like, for example, battery power and coal saved?
      Just to make it smaller?
And maybe can I change the information order?
Only if I can make the changes by config, I don’t wanna bother your for my needs.
      Thank you

    • RE: MMM-Growatt

@mumblebaj Hello, can I ask you if there is a way to change module appearance?
I like your graphics but I need to run it on a small display, so I wanna ask you if there is a way to have a simplified text+number visualization or if I can get rid of battery power, because I don’t own it.
Your other module “MMM- GrowattStats” could be good for me, but only if I can get rid of “charged” and “discharged” icons.
A sort of Triangle with “solar” “imported” “load” will be perfect for me.
Thank you a lot for your nice work

@Snille I’ve logged in just to say… you are incredible!
That’s a very very great example of what a MM can do.
It’s just up to our minds!
      Incredible, really.
I’m really interested about the IR touch system, I think I’m not enough professional to set it up but it’ really interesting.
I hope to have enough time in the future to learn/make one of this.
Thank you so much to have explain your project so well at the community

    • MMM-CalendarExt3 appear with "undefined"

      Hello,
      I’m trying to configure MMM-CalendarExt3 with MMM-GoogleCalendar.
I tried a lot of config.js configuration but everytime the module appear I see an “undefined” message.

Standard calendar show google events, and MMM-GoogleCalendar show google events too.
So the Google configuration part should be ok.

npm run config:check tells me it’s ok

Could it be an installation problem?
I tried “npm run install” and “git submodule update --init --recursive” inside the MMM-CalendarExt3 folder but they didn’t solve.
      Thank you

@sdetweil and I really thank you for that.
Thanks to you even more people will try MM and appreciate your work.
On my side I’m there to learn something new.
It’ more challenging but it’s also more interesting so I’d prefer manual ways.
Thanks a lot for your help, I’ll really appreciate that

      Perfect.
Your right but since I’m not a programmer so sometimes I have some stupid doubts.
I started with a simple idea and now in my mind I wanna make more than one MM, with differents setup but for now I need to learn the basics configuration, so I’m testing testing and testing more :)
Reinstall from 0 and test again :)

For example I hope it will be not to difficult to config css, I like the personalization it will offer but I’m scared about difficulties. But I’ll try for sure!

      Thank you again

    • Question about backup script

      Hello,
I have a question about backup script.
In these days I’m trying to learn how to configure MM with some modules, after all these tries, I will do a fresh installation with no errors on configuration.

When I’ll arrive at that point, I’ll wanna backup MM entirely, so I see your script:

bash -c “$(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror-backup-restore/main/mm_backup.sh)” with any parms

I don’t want a github private backup, I want just a local backup so does this script will backup every configuration on: $HOME/MM_backup ?
I assume I’ll just have to copy that folder away and keep it secure?

When I’ll need a restore I can start with an empty SD card, OS installation, MM installation script and then which of that 2 options?

1- copy the MM_backup folder in $HOME, install modules I need and run your restore script
(bash -c “$(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror-backup-restore/main/mm_restore.sh)” with any parms)

2- copy the MM_backup folder in $HOME and just run the restore script

      Thanks in advance

Ok, this evening I’ll show the ~/install.log and I’ll try to install MM with 32bit image.
I have another micro SD to test.
“show the messages for npm start” do you mean to copy the log screen I see from SSH?
To start MM I tried 3 ways:
1- from ssh “npm run start” “npm start”
2- from ssh the “DISPLAY=:0…(etc etc)” command
3- from terminal, directly on raspberry, “npm run start” and “npm start”

    • MM always black screen with cursor

      Hello guys,
it’s been a whole week since I’m trying to install MagicMirror on a Raspberry PI 3 model A+.
I waited like 3 years and now I have the free time to setting it up.
I’m writing on this forum because there is no way to make it work.
The principal issue is when I start the service the screen will became black with cursor on it and it wont display anything. Neither the clock.

Raspberry is not freeze, if I press CTRL + Q it return on desktop, and work normally.

I tried, no joking, like one million times…
with manual installation’s first because I usually prefer manual methods and, as latest trying, I tried automatic script from “sdetweil”.

On every test I made I started from a clean installation so:
      1- wipe the sd
2- install bookworm 64 bit with desktop with “raspberry pi imager”. OS downloaded from raspberry site.
4- boot and start the update/installation

First times I update the OS before nodejs and MM installation, on the last times I didn’t update OS just to check if like this it will work.

Another detail is I tried to disable pihole (installed in another raspberry) for 40 minutes, in order to complete the script installation without any network interferences but nothing.
Honestly I think pihole is not connected to my issue, but I tried before disturb you in the forum.

So every time, after the installation, I have a black screen with cursor.
      Another detail:
Now I’m using an lcd (9-10 inches) connected with an lcd controller board, I though it should be an LCD/controller issue so I tried also to connect it on my tv screen and nothing.
      Black screen with cursor, again.

I’m becoming CRAZY… tha’t why my name is nowayto…make it work!

The installation is so simple! It’s impossible it doesn’t work.
I also read every forum on google to find a solution for my issue but nothing.
If this issue was appeared after a config.js modification, I will knew it was my fault but in that case…
      I didn’t make any modification… I’m trying just a simple startup.

If you can help me I’ll really thank you for your time guys.
      Thanks a lot
