Using IR (IRDA) signals to Control TV
Hi.
Has anyone tried use IRDA connected to Raspberry for control TV - turn on, turn off?
I dont want to use the relay on the power cable, I heard that this is not the best for Tv. I dont know where connect relay inside TV, there is no normal standby button. -
RE: libCEC LG TV
There is no power button, there is a small joystick. you have to move and press. I am thinking about controlling the power supply - relay, it works. Only when TV turning on, shows the LG start screen /input screen- OSD

RE: libCEC LG TV
Ok. I found the answer here:
https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues/363“LG do not support Power Off (Standby) in their CEC implementation”
I use pir sensor and relay to turn off/on TV. Is there any other solution to turn off/on the screen but that the OSD does not show up? -
