@mykle1 looks like the server certificate by api.usno.navy.mil for https communication has expired, or someone has intercepted your request and has a fake cert
I get that error using your url on my phone

@mykle1 sadly not a joke. I see this all the time.
New users wanting quick results ‘expect’ that users who have provided solutions ‘should’ make changes for them. They have no experience with open source or voluntary contribution.
@cowboysdude I just cut/pasted from his post.
@cjmaverick said in MMMM-RandomBackground Help!!:
WARNING! Could not load config file. Starting with default configuration. Error found: Error: Cannot find module ‘exif’
looks like you might not have done a npm install
in the mm/modules/MMMM-RandomBackground folder to install the dependencies for the module
@elporcho from the home folder ( cd ~ ), do sudo -rf rm MagicMirror
Then clone the mm repo again, then cd MagicMirror, then npm install
@mwel1977 I use an ssh session from my Windows box and kill the npm start process. Actually a little script kills all node related tasks
@elporcho ‘permission denied’ sounds like you used sudo npm install
, which leaves files owned by root, not the normal pi user.
Best to erase and start again
@sean ok, that doesn’t work for me… i am not background, i am foreground. (fullscreen above).
if I set if on the module div or on the image, I get the same extreme zoom in.
@sean bingo… if something is clipped (not shown) then its wrong… I fiddled with all those css settings and finally gave up… i calculate the dimensions myself and all is good on EVERY picture
@sean i understand… but BOTH distort the image presentation
