      No, he said he’ll do the work for free and only charge material (packaging) and the shipping fees:

      I would do the work for free for you all, I only want the costs for the styrofoam plate and the shipping costs to each of you everywhere here in europe :)

      Should we wait with the order until holidays are over or is end of this week a good chance?

      @Goldjunge_Chriz did you set any timeframe for yourself?

      @Goldjunge_Chriz:
      Not sure about the calclation of “total”. Are items with less than 0,4 m2 counted as0.4 m2 or the exact value?
      7,27 m2 is with 0.4 m2 for the items 7, 8 and 11. 6,96 m2 with the exct value.

    • RE: [ORDER CLOSED] Two way mirror order in Germany

      I’m on vacation currently. As written in my last post I will definitely order one of these mirrors, however I can not measure the size before Friday. It is approximately 0.5m * 0.4m

      I’m in too. I have to measure once again, but it’ll be a bit more than 0.2m² (~0.4m * 0.5m). So I’ll pay 0.4m².

      @frog : he (@Goldjunge_Chriz) will get all the mirrors and give it / ship it to the users, as far as I understood. Since he wrote his post in German and English, I guess / hope, that he’d be willing to send to users outside of Germany too 👍

      @Goldjunge_Chriz
      Wow, thank you so much for your post and offer! Your pictures look great and I’d love to get my hands on one of these mirrors :)
      Since my setup / display of very thin, I’m highly interested in a thin mirror - 3mm sounds awesome!

      So, in case this will happen: Where could I (and everyone else) pick up the mirror / where do you live (roughly 😀)?

      @TomasZmuda
      I tested unplugging pin 3 and you are right: the display / backlight ist switched off 👍
      I also got me a voltmeter and checked the currents :) seems to be identical to your setup. So next, I’ll connect a PIR, check the current and connect it as you described.

      Thanks!

      I found the description of the board and pins:
      http://www.vslcd.com/Specification/T.VST29.03.pdf

      “CN2” describes the pinout for the invertor.
      Pin 3 is backlight on/off and pin 4 is for the adjustment of the brightness.

      Thanks Tomas,

      unfortunately I don’t have a voltmeter or an oscilloscope at hand. I hope I’ll figure it out somehow :/

      Hi Tomas,

      your mirror looks great!

      I´m planning to do the same (and I even looked at the same Ikea mirror :) ) and was wondering how you solved tha backlight handling exactly.

      You talked about an invertor in one of your posts. My controller has an invertor, too. Can you tell me if your solution would work here aswell?
      This is the board with the controller: http://www.ebay.de/itm/TV-HDMI-VGA-AV-USB-AUDIO-control-board-for-15-6-B156HAN01-2-1920x1080-IPS-LCD-/361128251020

      Thanks :)

    • RE: What Monitor did you use?

      I used an Asus MB169B+ which is an external USB C monitor. It’s extremely thin, but I had to get a controller on eBay, since the included controller has only the USB-port (and uses DisplayLink).

      This looks great! Thanks for sharing the module @mochman :)
      How do you plan to integrate the sensors in the housing of your mirror? I guess it’s not possible to cover them with glass or plastic, right?
