@sdetweil I’m not sure I trust networking to manage the basic functionality of my computer. Playing games online or surfing the web is fine, but if my computer has a performance problem (e.g. running out of RAM because I forgot to close my browser and have hundreds of tabs open, which happens sometimes when I am researching something), then I could lose control over my computer because it doesn’t have the resources to run the vnc.
I am aiming for a solution that doesn’t involve networking.
I want to take a laptop monitor in its chassis and make it a monitor/keyboard for my desktop so I can use it easily from my couch. Unfortunately, I know nothing about LCD controller board.
I don’t know if this asking people to do too much research or anything like that, but I don’t know how to tell which parts I should buy. I don’t currently have a laptop panel in mind, as I am intending to buy it with its associated chassis. My goal is to make something that looks like a laptop, but is actually a peripheral to a desktop that connects to it with a USB C cable that has a monitor, keyboard, and some other peripherals. I hope this is something someone can help me with. I don’t really know if this is on topic for this forum, but this seems to be the largest place where LCD boards are discussed. If this is the wrong place and anyone can direct me to a better forum, that would be great.
