Problem with my pir sensor
-
Hi
I have a pir installed but unfortunately the screen never goes into standby,
The module MMMpirSsensor is nevertheless well installed I use the output gpio 22
If it comes from the pir or elsewhere?
thank you in advance -
@Fonfon I don’t have a PIR sensor for my Magic Mirror yet, but I was just reading yesterday about problems with the PIR and Raspberry Pi 3
Apparently, the PIR gets interference from the Wireless chip on the Raspberry Pi 3 and it causes it to give bad readings, even the Adafruit site has a note about it:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/189
“PIR sensors and the Raspberry Pi 3 sometimes don’t get along - if you’re having false trigger reports, make sure the PIR Sensor is far away from the Pi 3”
Here is another possible solution - this guy used some kind of interference blocker on the wire, check it out:

HI
thanks for your answering i put a ferrite bead near gpio connector but my output 15 gpio 22 is always high
so my screen is always turn on .
i don’t why …
Perhaps my pir is broken because the first time I plugged in I reversed the power supply… -
@Fonfon Did you try to adjust the resistance of the PIR?
-
@Fonfon I’m in the same case of you, my screen don’t turn off.
I was wondering if my PIR wasn’t broken but I wanted to check it before. So before changing your PIR you can test it by a simple python script. I found this (in french) : http://mycoolpizza.blogspot.fr/2013/05/raspberry-pi-utiliser-un-capteur-de_29.html?m=1

Hi,
I tested my pir with my multimetre I just disconnected the output and testing directly on the pine I saw that my output always remained high.
I changed my pir now all works perfectly
