MM not loading on startup or manually

I followed the Jessie Lite Installation Guide, however when I reboot MM doesn’t start and when I try to start it (by running the mm script) I get errors. My mm.sh script looks like this:

cd /home/pi/MagicMirror
DISPLAY=:0 npm start

I know Linux pretty well, but unfortunately I can’t say the same about Node.js. I appreciate any help.

What’s weird is when I try to look at the debug log referenced in the error (/home/pi/.npm/_logs/2018-05-19T05_58_17_110Z-debug.log), there isn’t a filename called 2018-05-19T05_58_17_110Z-debug.log under the _logs directory. I just turned it on for the first time today when I tried running the command you suggested and all of the log files had today’s date on them so I copied them all below. Could it be a permission problem? The error is just telling me that it failed to start the run-start.sh script, which doesn’t help me too much. Hopefully I’m overlooking something.

I think you might be able to rebuild MM…

cd MagicMirror
npm rebuild

it takes a few minutes, but that is one thing that has helped me in the past fix several different errors.

Also, you can re-install the MM and your modules, especially the last one you added prior to getting this error…

Start with the last module… cd modules/[last-module-name] >>> npm install

Then run the npm install with MM. Or, the npm rebuild

then restart MM

Also, try rebooting the Pi by shutting it off, then turn it back on.
(works better to help fix errors than using restart)
