Where to get (cheap) acrylic mirror from in Germany
-
@dbahn25 it is not the screen or mirror. it is the light of my ceiling construction.

@dbahn25
Nice I am very interessted. Sad that they only offer two sizes.
Just had a look they offer three types the “silber”, “mirona standart” or the “mirona beamsplitter” - which one did you choose ? -

My test mirror finally arrived today, and I immediately took some photos with it on my screen for you guys ;) I didn’t have much time though, so it’s just a very quick test
I think it looks great, and even though the mirror is VERY reflective (3% transmission) the things displayed on screen are still clearly visible (and I only tested with the normal Windows 10 desktop with a rather dark grey background, but not with a raspi + magic mirror software yet)
@DirkS this one gets quite close to the “shiny bathroom mirror”, which you said the myspiegel.de one is not
I’ll post more pictures when I get on with my build (I’ll build something with that piece of mirror, even though it’s that small…), but that’ll probably not be before next week

@dbahn25 Referring to your review I ordered a mirror at glas-per-klick.de immediately. My mirror has the size 60x40cm and I will build the complete smartmirror in the next weeks!
So thank you very very much for your review, I’m really happy with that result! :) -

Would you post a few pictures of the packaging when you get it? I really wonder how they ship such a big piece of glass, even my small one came in a huge box buried under tons of paper and bubblewrap… -

The Mirror from glas-per-klick looks very cool and the price is not so bad, but they don’t cut the Mirror to my needed size? I’m right or oversee something?
I have tested my MM with a selfmade Mirror from Plexiglass and Mirror Foil, but it looks very poorly. Now I need a real Mirror. The MagicMirror is a neverending project, i spent so much time to wait on a Parcel Service like DHL, UPS, Amazon Logistics and so on :-D -

You should probably write to them to ask if they have any other sizes (but I think generally, 60x40cm is quite a good size for a MM).
I tested the glas-per-klick mirror with MM and a Pi 2. In daylight, right next to a window, it’s a bit too dark. My monitor is not really that bright, so it should be fine with a better monitor. When it’s dark and there’s only the ceiling light on (which is quite bright), the mirror’s perfectly fine to read.
