I’d like to start a thread of streaming news sites that allow their videos streams to be embedded in an object on another site. Specifically, I want news sites that allow you to embed their link in MMM-iFrame-Ping on a Magic Mirror AND will Autoplay the video when loaded. This is important.

Most news sites that offer live streaming like NBC News, CBS News, CNN, etc. don’t allow their live streams to be embedded on another site. Haystack News allows this, but won’t autoplay the video until you click it (this is a problem for magic mirrors who don’t often have a keyboard or mouse).

The only news video that I could get to show up and autoplay is the Sky News feed on YouTube. Here’s a link that works:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Auq9mYxFEE?autoplay=1

Note: not all YouTube videos allow embedding. It’s up to the publisher to allow this.

Does anyone know any other feeds that work well in the MMM-iFrame-Ping module? I’d like to collect ones for Sports, Entertainment, Financial News, Tech News, Politics, Travel, etc…

@joeronimo Serious question. How do you know that they won’t allow content to be streamed?
Reason I ask is that while not a streaming issue, I’ve tried to save certain livestreams and YouTube tells me in no uncertain terms that I cant save a certain live feed. Based on that I would think if you tried to click the share icon and copy or embed the feed they would do same.

@ankonaskiff17 You will see a message saying “The owners of this video don’t allow their content to be embedded in other web pages.” or something similar to that when you try to show it in an iFrame.
