So I am looking for a module (whether it is a new one or one that can be modified to suit my needs) I have a list of “phrases” I’d like to be able to click a button (I could use MMM-Remote Control for this ideally) and the phrase appears on the mirror. I could use the compliments module for this but I have no idea how to just make one appear that I want when I want! Please let me know if you can help me with this!

MMM-syslog can recieve whatever text you send it (via http get) and it will display directly on your mirror

@broberg This is really close to what I’m looking for but not quite. I wanna sent instant notifications that pop up and dominate the screen similar to the alerts from the Remote control! Sorry to be a PITA

@comedyclub One simple approach could be to adapt the compliments module and trigger specific phrases through a custom action instead of letting it rotate randomly. You could store your phrases in a list and map each one to a button or remote command so only the selected text shows on the mirror when you want it. That way it behaves more like an on demand text generator rather than an automatic cycle. I have seen people do similar things when experimenting with stylized outputs like brat text, so the logic should be flexible enough with a bit of customization.
