Magic window instead of mirror???

Hi I was wondering if anyone had tried or done this before? I am thinking of making a magic “window” using a stripped down LCD monitor attached to clear glass and making a custom frame to house it all. It would have the text and graphics displayed as a floating effect in a see through panel.
