@chassain-0 - Rather than clone the entire image, why not just zip up the MagicMirror folder? Or possibly just the
config
andmodules
folders. That way you’re not saving all the standard Raspbian files.If you ever need to restore from backup, you can just re-flash Raspbian onto the SD card, run your OS updates, run the Magic Mirror installer and then unpack your config and modules folders. Run the
npm install
in the particular folders and you should be good to go. -
@bhepler
i do this with winscp. I need just to upgrade after a flash. you’re right but i wanted to know for my experience if there is a simple way to copy sd card to my pc, like a script -
@chassain-0 you can use scp commandline to copy file(s) from there to here.
syntax
scp options user@ip:path_to_file(s) path_to_save_files_here
for example
scp -r user@ip:~/MagicMirror ~/save_folder/MagicMirror
-
i have copied MagicMirror on my pc after load the new version… if i have a pb with my sd card, i clone with an old image containing an old MagicMirror. If i change the old by the new, the version will be ok ?

@chassain-0 yes, just erase the node_modules folders in each place, base and modules, and then redo npm installs each place…
