      Hi all!
I just bought a new SD card, a 32GB instead of the current 16GB, thinking that I could clone the current content to the new one. Can I do that, and if so, how? What tools do I need?
I’m working on a Windows machine usually, if that helps.

If you can get on a linux machine, this is quick and easy with dd.

First, plug in your current sdcard and find the path using

            sudo fdisk -l

It’ll be a path starting with /dev/, usually /dev/sdX or /dev/mmcblk#. Get the whole drive, not the partition (for a device at /dev/sda, the partitions will be /dev/sda1, sda2, etc).

Next, copy the current image to a file, using the path you just found:

            sudo dd=$YOUR_NEW_PATH of=$FileName.img bs=1M

Once it’s finished (it’ll take a while), remove your card and insert the new one, and reverse the process. Find the path to the new card (it may have changed from the original) and use the image file you just created as the input:

            sudo dd if=$FileName.img of=$YOUR_PATH bs=1M

            And you’re done.

@drewski3420 but that leaves the new space unused
