      Hey everyone!

I recently set up my MagicMirror, and while it’s working great with the basic modules, I feel like it’s missing something that makes it really stand out. I’m hoping to get some ideas from you all on how to take it to the next level.

      I’m open to suggestions on:

Cool modules or integrations (especially unique ones)
Creative ways to customize the look/UI
Any tips for improving performance or adding some hidden features

When I was searching for the same I came across these resources/articles https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/9231/first-time-build-looking-for-suggestions-tips-and-hardware-recomendations Salesforce CPQ Tutorial however they are good but I want to learn more from community members.

I’ve been thinking about adding more smart home integration or maybe some fun visual effects, but I’m not sure where to start. Would love to hear your thoughts or any cool setups you’ve seen!

Thanks in advance for any help, and feel free to share your setups for some inspiration!

Hey Matthias, it’s awesome that you’re looking to upgrade your MagicMirror setup! If you’re looking for creative modules, ‘MMM-Page-Indicator’ could be a fun addition to display different content. Also, ‘MMM-CalendarExt2’ could help you keep track of events in a sleek way. For UI customization, I’ve seen great results with ‘MMM-TextEffect’ to add some movement to the display.

Also, for performance improvements, consider optimizing your modules by reducing refresh rates for ones that don’t need constant updating.

I also came across some useful tips in this MagicMirror thread. Hopefully, that can give you more ideas!

On a different note, I find it’s helpful to take a moment for personal reflection when working on projects like these. I’ve been reading Surah Yaseen for some peace and focus—it’s a great read. You can check it out here: Surah Yaseen. Good luck with your mirror!

@abuislam CalendarExt2 has long since been replaced by Ext3 (and family)

@matthiasbaker one other thing is to look thru the available modules in the 3rd party list linked in the top menu here
