How do I start building a smart mirror for full-body outfit changes and recording them?
-
Hello ,
I would like to build a my first smart mirror that helps with outfit changes. The mirror should be able to record and display the differences between outfits, and allow me to change the color of each item I wear through a touchscreen. As a beginner, I need recommendations on how to get started, including suggestions on the best mirror size, monitor size, and materials to use. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I’m thinking to buy a 24-inch monitor and using a screen magnifier to enlarge the display on the mirror. Would this be a good idea, or should I invest in a larger monitor?
Is it possible to use a smaller monitor and magnify the display on the mirror while maintaining high quality?
Thanks in advance .

@Ismailfares so far there has been talk of sonething like that, but nothing produced
if you do a google search for
node js augmented reality
you will see there are components one could use to do that
MagicMirror is all javascripti personally think MagicMirror is the wrong platform for that,
as you will be working around the MagicMirror runtime to do that function, but i suppose you could turn it on/off with an on onscreen button , and have the MagicMirror info panel display the rest of the time -
@Ismailfares
as for monitor.
MagicMirror is just showing thru a two way mirror. so your monitor size cannot be enlarged beyond the physical monitor size -
@sdetweil
Thanks for reply .
If I use a screen magnifier or projector behind a mirror, will it be possible to enlarge the display, or will always appear the same size as the monitor?
I want to display a full-body image, which would require a 55-inch screen, but that’s quite expensive. I’m looking for alternative solutions—any suggestions? -
@Ismailfares the monitor must be against the glass to make it visible (and careful for reverse reflections causing image echos) , so there is no room for a magnifier (whatever that it)
large image will be a challenge as you meantioned… 55 in is tall AND wide
