This is a major noob question, but what resistor do I need?

I foolishly went in to my local store, and asked for a 1k ohm resistor.

They then started asking what type?

Standard through hole resister, probably wouldn’t need anything above 1/8 watts. I have a few thousands of those in different values … as well as SMD ones.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?
