      I am using NOAA3 and i simply add the the following lines the my config:

      {
        module: "MMM-WeatherBackground",
        // don't assign position.
        config: {}
      },
      

      Unfortunately the background is still black.
      Is ther something else to consider?

              I think his version https://github.com/cowboysdude/MMM-WeatherBackground will be work. I don’t know it is completed or not, but you can try it.

                    I think it wasn’t installed properly. (@cowboysdude might have forgotten npm install in his description.)

                    cd ~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-WeatherBackground
                    npm install
                    

                    try again.
