I’m finding it a pain to scroll through the thread to find updates.
It would be good to have all of this information in the first post, with updates/date and time stamps

Hi Zach,
I saw your project and tried to get Jasper up and running. It was a ballache, so I decided against it.
There is 1 working voice module and another is in development!
Welcome to the forum
After the release of the voice module(s), I think it’s time to pick up a microphone
Can anyone recommend one?
What should I be looking for, something with an on board sound card?
@strawberry-3-141 , @ronny3050 & @alexyak - What are you guys using?
@Truthhy Put your money away, and have a read through this thread - https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/706/halloween-mirror-ghouls-anyone
Make use of the Remote control module, so you can control when the video is displayed and you might be able to do what you need!
@yawns thanks very much!
Much better than having two wires coming out
This is going to be my next project.
GameBoy Zero!
I’m Mitch from the UK, I’m a BI Consultant who specialises in SQL Server.
I’m building this mirror for my kitchen, and looking to replace the family calendar with it (plus other features like commute times etc). We have 4 kids, so it can be difficult to keep track of all our activities etc!
At some point I’m hoping to make a move and develop a module.
I’ve also just joined my local hackspace which has just formed, and I’ve been showing off the mirror to those guys too!
@cyberphox I’m ordering my echo today (UK)
@flooo This guy has a fairly decent walk-through of his build - https://howchoo.com/project/mzu3ndm2otu/building-a-voice-controlled-smart-mirror-with-raspberry-pi-and-jasper
Hi all,
I just wanted to update, that I have moved away from the Hue Bulbs/Bridge so I haven’t been able to work with this module for some time now.
Hopefully someone has forked it and resolved any issues.
I do still have my bridge and bulbs, just switched them out for alternatives. I may switch back at some point.
I followed the same process
If you install the Remote Control Module, then you can use this to restart the mirror
I’m just at work at the moment, so I’ll post my config when I get home.
When I leave it as it originally was in the config, the mirror loads but I can’t get MMM-RemoteControl to work as it gives me the permission error
Then when I replace it with [] it fails to load the mirror and tells me to create a config.js file
The default of [] doesn’t work at all for me. I’m happy to let all devices on my network access my mirror, how do I do this?
It’s not the simplest of features is it!
Hoping someone can help me here :/
@Hawking Thanks for all your help and comments, I’ve managed to get it up and running now!
Now I just need to get the whitelist sorted :grimacing:
I think if someone can get this up and running, they should host the image somewhere for people to download.
Don’t load any modules, just go with the default.
Then people can install the ones that they need.
I saw errors stating that MM requires a higher version of node, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it.
Could you provide the command you used? Then I’ll try it on mine too and will feed back
Thanks for posting this, I’ve followed it through my Pi Zero (not the W)
The minute I try and add any kind of config, I just get a blank screen. Is there something I am missing?
I just tried it with the clock module, and it doesn’t give me anything.
If I corrupt the config file in any way, I get the standard error message saying to create a config.js file.
Do you have any idea what my issue could be?
@SebTota
Do you still have the image you can share? I’m struggling to follow the guide here…
