In the Pi terminal what is the command for the config file?

What are some tips for a complete beginner for a raspberry pi?

@bmadeira were you a beginner when you first tried this? I ruined my last Pi when I tried to hook up the PIR sensor.

there are 2 things showing up when i put the SD card into the computer. Recovery and boot. I am confused on if I just download the noobs or if i have to do something to thies files first.

The first time it came pre installed and downloaded on the sd card. it was pre formatted and whatnot.

how do I install format And install the sd card?

My raspberry pi shut down and won’t start back up again. I think it may be an issue with the SD card. How do I re-download the stuff to the sd card. when I went to the card two things showed up ,Recovery and Boot. I didn’t know what to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have a great tutorial that they used to set up their PIR motion sensor into their MagicMirror? All of the ones that I have are not too great and don’t explain everything well. I am a beginner and do not know what I am doing. Any help/advice?

Is there a good module to use? the ones that I have used always come up with a config error, or crash the pi.

Does anyone have a good tutorial waking through how to set up a PIR motion sensor with the MagicMirror. all of the ones that I have found either don’t work, or they crash the entire thing, and i have to restart completely. Any help? Also what is the pi home root folder?

If I go into the MagicMirror files enter into the config files and edit it that way, where do I run the npm config:check?

It does not show me where the error is. I thought it would, but it doesn’t. I made sure there was a comma after each value, but it still came up with an error. I checked it and it all looked the same as the other ones with the brackets and whatnot. Any other advice?

When I try to add modules to my magic mirror it produces a config error, and I don’t know why? also if anyone knows how to use a PIR motion sensor without crashing the whole thing and having to do a recover on it please let me know. ASAP I need this in less than 20 days…
