Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a small project I just finished: a Magic Mirror with a fully laser-cut wooden frame.

The goal was simple: instead of buying a frame, I wanted to design and cut the entire structure using a small laser cutter.
The mirror itself is 620 × 375 mm, and the frame is made from 3 mm plywood sheets (210 × 145 mm) cut with a 10W diode laser.
In total the frame required:
- ~56 laser-cut parts
- 10 cutting sheets
- 3 mm plywood
- finger-joint assembly
- rabbet for the mirror
- 2 backing layers


For a 10W laser, cutting all the pieces for a frame this size actually worked surprisingly well. I honestly didn’t expect it to work that cleanly.
The mirror runs on:
- Raspberry Pi 5
- HDMI monitor (USB pow ered)
- standard MagicMirror modules (clock, weather, news)
