Hello,
I thought that maybe instead of a mirror a large e-paper might be used as a home info display (in the kitchen or living room)
Are there any large e-paper displays available? at least 24"-27"
Has anyone seen it? What are the prices?

Hello,
I have been using pir-sensor module for a while with succes. Screen was going to sleep after desired amount of time and was waking up even after several hours of inactivity when motion was detected.
Then I installed a remote-control plugin.
The issue is that after reboot everything is fine. Screen goes to sleep after couple of second as it is configured in pir plugin and if I move in front of a sensor within short amount of time then screen is waking up. But after longer time screen is black and monitor displays info that DVI input is activating but there is no signal.
On the other hand when I go to remote application (on the phone) and click Power->turn Monitor on - it is switching on.
Do you know how it can be fixed? So the screen will wake up using pir sensor without the need to click in remote control app?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Mike
Hi,
Is there a Voice Recognition module that recognizes who is speaking? So I could use it instead of facial recognition. Hot word would be the same but depending who will speak, it will recognize if this is me or my girlfriend, or guest. Has someone done that?
Energy saving - e-paper needs energy only for changing state, so it could just be on all the time - no need to worry about sleep/wake.
And if you have bright living room you just place white e-paper display which looks a lot better on the wall than black display. It does not emit light so there is no problem at night and so on… It might be kind of electronic whiteboard on your fridge (especially when e-paper display is very thin)…
This one will be helpful anyway but I need to trigger a relay from a module using GPIO.
Found this

way to expensive…
but maybe someone will find something more affordable…

Yes, but still there is need for a module that will get payload from ex. MMM-Swipe (from ultrasonic sensor) and convert it into a GPIO signal sent to relay module or modules (if you want to click 6 physical buttons), right?
Hi,
I have a mirror to which RPI and Apple TV is connected - RPI to DVI, ATV to HDMI connector. I can switch between sources with switch on monitor (actually i extracted those switches and put them into mirror frame).
But can I use RPI to “click the switch” using RPI’s GPIO?
If so that it could be awesome to have a module for monitor steering - source selection or volume.
Then module like MMM-Hover or any other button control module could be used to physically control display itself - there are always 5 or 6 buttons - so this module could just control push of those buttons…
Can anyone build that kind of module? or maybe there is one already?

Hi,
very nice module!
one day it might be remote configurator for a mirror.
You could do a querry for all installed modules and create a simple drag and drop interface for putting modules in their places of a screen and then regenerate mirror config file.
I hope you will do it one day.

Mike
