Or is there a better setup someone would recommend other than alexapi?
Thanks

Got voice and mic working, now to start on the MagicMirror and modules 😁
so i can only get the mic and sound running when i run
python3 /opt/AlexaPi/src/main.py -d
so its been some time since iv been on the site,
i had to start again as things got a little smokey lol
iv gone down the AlexaPI route this time, but iv come up a little stuck all ready, the problem is that i cant get sound or the mic working at all though the usb sound card im sure im missing something really simple but i just cant place my finger on it.
iv gone down a totally different route this time im using a xbox 360 case running PINN and dual booting rasbian and retro pi, my plan is keep the pi portable and then connect to a magicmirror when its left at home,
little info for anyone interested
using a rpi 3b+, iv got the original power button connected to the pi (360 RF card), 500GB split raspbian and retro pi via USB, on board sound running through usb sound card, 3.5 inch touch screen on front and a few bells and whistles and LEDs.
when i get time ill post a few pictures,
thanks
So i’ve just been looking into overclocking my pi, iv overclocked a few PC and got some quite good results, i’ve found a what i think is a quite good guide to follow -
https://hackaday.io/project/29898-boost-your-raspberry-pi-in-minutes/details 1
any others out there anyone would like to mention would be great
also wondering if anybody had a go at doing this before, if so what were your results, i know each and every pi will produce different outcomes just wanted a feel of things to come.
at the moment i have a heatsink on the cpu and ram with a fan on each chip and just a heatsink on the ethernet controller.
thanks everyone
I’m guessing that this question has been asked quite a few times so I’m sorry for the repeat.
I’ve got my mirror up and running using latest resabian, MagicMirror2, modules MMM-AssistantMk2 and MMM-HOTWORD.
Adding more modules soon just taking a step at a time as I’m a total beginner.
Seems to be running OK apart from the Google Assistant, its running so slow when asking questions and waiting for replies, and I don’t get voice response back just like a humming sound (I’m guessing this is when Google is answering), I know sound and mic are working as I can her myself talk when testing the mic.
Also what is the best setup for mic and speakers in using a USB sound card
Mic is just standard 3.5mm jack type
Speakers are running through a separate amp after the sound card.
One more this is there a way to add an Led for when the Google Assistant is listening??
Sorry for the long post I’m just so close
