    @Mar Hey, I’m not sure, if I can give you a proper report on the performance, I’ve got no experience with other raspi models and I’m still in the stage of building the software part.

    I can tell you though that the installation won’t be painless, there’s some stuff that needs manual updating. If you decide to go through with it and run into problems, hit me up, maybe I could help you out.

    @bhepler That’s what I had concluded as well.

    There’s already the wordnik module , I’ve looked into its code, couldn’t find out how to edit it for my usage though, since my coding knowledge is very limited.

    Maybe the bible verse module? I’ll give it a go.

  • parsing RSS description (newsfeed or MMM-RSS-FEED)

    hi,

    I’m trying to get an RSS feed going that would show more than just the RSS title, unfortunately I’m not sure on what to change (and where) to get more lines in the feed (not just title)

    I’ve tried MMM-RSS-FEED and adjusting the default newsfeed module, but am still struggling

    Example:
    http://feeds.feedblitz.com/german-word-of-the-day

    content of the feed:

    vulgäre Ausdrücke: profanity
     2017-01-15 00:00 UTC

    Part of speech:	noun
    Example sentence:	Man sollte hier keine vulgären Ausdrücke benutzen.
    Sentence meaning:	One shouldn't use profanity here.

    What MMM-RSS-FEED module shows:

    vulgäre Ausdrücke: profanity

    What newsfeed module shows:
    alt text

    relevant config.js part:

    {
    module: 'newsfeed',
    position: 'top_right',
    config: {
    feeds: [
    {
    title: "German word of the day:",
    url: "http://feeds.feedblitz.com/german-word-of-the-day&x=1"
    }
    ],
    showSourceTitle: true,
    showPublishDate: true,
    showDescription: true
    }
    },

    Is there a way to force either of the modules to display the RSS body (description) formatting properly? Respect new lines and tabs?

    Well, clean installation fixed the issue, not sure what the root cause was though.

    @creye There isn’t any difference, even with an actual monitor it looks like this. I’ve just been using VNC, since it’s more convenient in my setup.

    Anyway, after backip up the current state, I’m starting over with a fresh Jessie Lite installation, let’s see how that goes.

  • [Pi Zero] Midori not using full vertical resolution - 1080x1920

    Hi everybody,

    I’m running a Pi Zero with NOOBS installation and am having trouble getting a browser use the full resolution available - 1080x1920 (vertical fullHD monitor).

    When booting up to GUI, everything works properly, whole screen is used. Changing boot to console (autologin) and just starting midori, I get to this:

    https://i.imgur.com/5NwBX5l.png

    Overscan settings in config.txt did not have any influence, I’ve tried several different settings in config.txt (which I unfortunately did not write down), what would you suggest?

    Thank you for your help!

    Below are the contents of relevant config files.

    /boot/config.txt:
