    • RE: default calendar module - vacation length

      @sdetweil
      thanks for the quick response. I have tried that way. See my config below:

      		{
      			module: "calendar",
      			header: "Berliner Ferien 2023",
      			position: "top_left",
      			config: {
      				fullDayEventDateFormat: "[KW]ww",
      				dateEndFormat: "[KW]ww",
      				calendars: [
      					{
      						symbol: "suitcase-rolling",
      						url: "https://www.ferienwiki.de/exports/ferien/2023/de/berlin",
      						maximumEntries: "4"
      					}
      				]
      			}
      		},

    • custom news feed like a live ticker

      Hi guys,
      i want to misuse the custom news feed module as a live ticker for occuring events. Therefore i have to say that my magicmirror should be less an mirror but an infoscreen at my construcion site.

      In our daily business we have a lot of unforseen changes in our schedule.
      To inform all of us i thought it would be a good idea to display a ticker.

      Is it possible to use the news feed module for that purpose? Or do i think completly complicated and such ticker could be solved another way?

      Maybe you can give me some inputs.
      Thanks in advance.

    • default calendar module - vacation length

      Hi guys, i hope it is the right section here…
      … i have a question about the default calendar module:

      I want to show the vacation from an ics-file. Within this file you can find both start and end date. But i can’t get it worked to show me the end.

      I prefer an output like:
      Summer KW27 - KW33

      The [KW] is not that problem. My Output so far is just the beginning of the vacation. Is it possible to show the length at all?

      Thanks for your help.

      hi @cowboysdude
      at which time does the quotes getting updated? does it change at a specific time? depends this time on your timezone?

      every morning (CEST) i see the same quote like in the evening. at the homepage it is getting updated at 02.00 a.m. that would be nice if your module is getting updated at the same time. so i see each morning the new quote.

      is this possible?

      Thats obvious. Thought perhaps it has any influence. So the thinner the better because of light weight?

    • Recommended mirror specs

      Hi guys,

      do you have any recommendations for the best mirror-experience?

      I could get a mirror glas with
      transmission 3% and 4mm thickness. Or better 6mm?

      The mirror should be hanging in the corridor. Most of the time it is artificial lighted. What do you think about the specs?

      Two questions:

      1. how do i make it executable?
      2. when the script is executable, the problem with the failure is still existing, isn’t it?

      I’m just curious. Have you unvoted any of the posts regarding the work that @cowboysdude has been doing for you?

      Of course not! Not on purpose. I am glad about @cowboysdudes work he is doing for me/us!! I believe he knows that.

      but nothing happens

      when i want to start this, i will get this message:

      […] Restarting cron (via systemctl): cron.serviceFailed to restart cron.service: Access denied
      failed!
      So what can i do now?

    • MMM-PIR-Sensor - Delay

      Hi guys,
      i installed the PIR-Sensor module and it is working. I am using the default configs. But i have noticed a undefined delay. Sometimes it lasts up to 30 seconds to turn on the display. Other time it was only 15 seconds.
      Actually the monitor should be turned on again without a delay.

      What can I do? Do you have any hint for me?
