      I’ve just follow this tutorial:

      http://emmanuelcontreras.com/how-to/how-to-create-a-magic-mirror-2-with-pi-zero-w/

And there are an image of all the software to burn and just configure with your choices/modules. The problem is that I can’t update it, always give me some error. So I decided not to update it. I hope it helps you!

Here yo have a link directly to download the image for raspberry pi zero:

      @Ramez

I have tried to install the MagicMirror software from scratch in a raspberry pi zero w and I have not been able to, too many errors that I was not able to solve. In the end I found this image and I got it working. It works well, but not with very demanding modules, rather with the default modules and few others.

Then there is the problem that I can not update the image because I also get many errors. Anyway, I’m happy with the final result.

Yes, always is a good idea to make a backup of a file before modified it

@Almly said in Want to buy smart mirror:

Will the steam from my shower damage the mirror?

Hi, I’ve made the smart mirror and placed it in the bathroom. I also thought that steam and humidity could damage the circuits. I’ve been with it for over a year now and never had any problems.

      You can see it here:

      my bathroom smart mirror

Also I have to say that I have put in different points of the circuitry, some bags of silica gel like these to absorb the humidity:

I also have to say that all the electronic part is inside the frame that holds the whole structure, so it is not in direct contact with moisture.

      I hope it helps.

      Regards.

Well, I think I can tag this post with SOLVED, all day with MMM-RAIN-MAP module disabled and no more black screens.

      Thanks all for your advice.

    • Starting a new project: Magic Mirror on a small 2.2 inches screen

      Hi,

I’ve had an idea for the past few months and I’m starting to implement it. It’s about using the MagicMirror software on a 2.2 inch screen, with the idea of showing elementary things, like the time, the calendar, news, the weather, etc. In this case I won’t need a two-way mirror

Here is a picture of the first steps with the project.

I hope you like the idea as much as I do.

      Greetings
