  • RE: MMM-RAIN-MAP (new: version 2.x)

    @Fozi We’ve a MM setup with 10 pages on it (its more a Family panel than a mirror; so useful for us to keep activities, list and routines and important info for a daily basis)

    Anyway the modules that matches yours:

    default modules:

    newsfeed,
    alert,
    updatenotification --> config disabled: true

    Third Party modules:

    MMM-AlexaControl,
    MMM-Pages & MMM-page-indicator,
    MMM-RemoteControl,
    MMM-GroveGestures,
    MMM-Tools,

    Im pretty sure the rpi freezes due to RAIN-MAP animation itself and not because of any module interaction but am not 100% sure.
    I’ve updated the module but nothing changes and mirror freezes if I show the RAIN-MAP (got it hidden on start and call it by alexaControl whenever I wanna show it).
    If I disabled the module, never freezes (have it on for hours with no problems --> we usually shutdown the rpi when going to bed…If I enabled the module and make it visible on the mirror it freezes at some point (maybe minutes, maybe hours…but it freezes indeed). If I start the mirror (remember default RAIN-MAP not visible) and never show the RAIN-MAP never freezes. If I disable the module (disabled: true) in config cpu usage & temperature on the pi are fine but If I enable it goes up to 40-70% at some stages and temperature goes over 70ºC sometimes…(not good)
    I increase value of animationSpeed on module config must say improves rpi performance (I’ve set it @800 and its fine for a longer period and maybe if we’re lucky the pi does not freeze). Could be the zoom in/out feature on module itself…don’t know as its hard to catch a useful log to look at. No error at all on pm2 logs.
    Here my newbie contribution; hope we can found something as module looks nice on the Mirror!
    I will keep an eye on this topic and, indeed, post it here if find something that helps…
    Cheers!
