@byte_me and I might suggest using the automated install script on that same page.
Delete or rename the MagicMirror folder before running the install script.

@bhepler and I have a module MMM-SleepWake that uses Motion to enable motion detection and different styles of sleep.
home/pi/MagicMirror/node_modules/rt-scraper/index.js:1
0|MagicMir | (function (exports, require, module, __filename, __dirname, process, global, Buffer) { return function (exports, require, module, __filename, __dirname) { *
0|MagicMir | ^
0|MagicMir |
0|MagicMir | SyntaxError: Unexpected token *
This * appears to be garbage. In many cases, for me, this indicated an sd card starting to fail.
You could rename the node_modules/rt-scraper folder, then try reinstalling that module
cd ~/MagicMirror
npm install rt-scraper
Then try to run mirror again…
But make plans for new sd card asap
@prism who u calling elderly!. I am 68 in 2 weeks…lol!
the link (ln) command provides for a local folder (or ) file, actually being someplace else
so,
ln -s "the usb folder" "some_new_directory in the MMM-BackgroundSlideshow folder"
then config the module to show images from the “some_new_directory in the MMM-BackgroundSlideshow folder”
in my case
lrwxrwxrwx 1 odroid odroid 18 Apr 29 12:40 uploads -> /media/odroid/misc/
uploads (here) points to my external disk shared over the network and mounted at /media/odroid/misc
so my commands were
cd MagicMirror/modules/MMM-ImageSlideShow
ln -s /media/odroid/misc uploads
@adrian-k please, NEVER edit the module file…
put it in config.js
lat & lng are numbers,
lat: ‘37.',
lng: '-122-’,
no quotes
# go to home folder
cd ~
# erase old installation of MagicMirror
rm -rf MagicMirror
# get the current MagicMirror repo here
git clone https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror.git
# change into its directory
cd MagicMirror
# install all the dependencies
npm install
# start mirror with default config
npm start
@AxLed that is what the install script does
@dazza120 are there any errors in the terminal window or developers window console?

I have been fighting a similar crash
