@pi-user there is a module that does this
https://github.com/Toreke/MMM-Dynamic-Modules
it allows other modules to send notifications to move modules. I do not think it saves the info

@kusselin u always put css changes in custom.css
once u know the class to change
according to the doc, compliments uses
classes Override the CSS classes of the div showing the compliments
Default value: thin xlarge bright
which u can change in config, or you can override in custom.css
.modulename .class { … }
u might be able to use large instead of xlarge (for the size part)
@c1olli @chanster but its worse than that… the service no longer exists for free, AND the data has changed…
and any other provider the data has changed… so its almost a complete rewrite
@kusselin posting here probably won’t get the developer’s attention… open an issue on the module github site
@Datfatboi never change the module code ( your second choice)
unless u are fixing a bug or adding some new function.
always put info into config.js
now, your lines for config.js are not correct.
{
module: "MMM-RottenTomatoes",
position: "top_left",
config: {
showHeader: "true"
showBoxOffice: "true"
showOpeningThisWeek: "true"
}
},
watch out for the quote style… the curved ones are used by MS office apps…
we need the text ones, straight up and down
also u are missing some required trailing commas
look at each line, and follow the rules
general rules for module definition
{} and [] must be matched
the word to the left of : does not need quotes
the thing to the right of : if a number or, true/false does NOT need quotes
otherwise is needs quotes, single or double doesn’t matter as long as start and end quote are the same
if the thing on the next line is a word , then THIS line needs a trailing comma
if the thing on the next line is {, then THIS line needs a trailing comma
also, indentation makes it MUCH easier to see the {} and []
@chanster i hear you. but this is all volunteer. no commitment to maintain a module. people make them for themselves, and sometimes share. and then move on.
sometimes the service provider drops out from under a module and the author has no interest in trying to update it. keeping up w the changes going on around us is a lot of work
I look at the age of the last change, if more than 6 months ago I move on.
@chanster wu is no longer free, and the api has changed. no one has updated the module
@Datfatboi all the config is on this page
https://github.com/AdamMoses-GitHub/MMM-RottenTomatoes
read the two links in my signature
@BKeyport u are joking, right?
MMM-Climacell-Hourly
MMM-BMW-CC
@jthewarrior7 try --start-fullscreen
this seems to work on my pi0, where --start-maximized does not
