MMM-MirrorMirrorOnTheWall - Alexa voice control to hide/show modules and display text/images
-
@joanaz Yeah i suppose i should actually have asked if Alexa pi would run well on a zero? Im assuming it would…its not really doing any processing, just sending stuff to amazon.
-
what do i have to type into the console to install this?
-
@zman3 it’s a MagicMirror Module, so same way to install it like any other modules. But you also need to set up Alexa, AWS IoT service, and my Alexa skill that complements it.
-
I’m very excited to test this over the weekend. I presently have AlexaPi and MM running concurrently. I’ve struggled to get MMM-AlexaPi to communicate with AlexaPi, but wow this looks a lot more expansive. I’m new to AWS IoT, but your instructions are easy to follow. Great work!

@in_a_days Thank you!
-
do you know if it will work with this ? https://github.com/alexa/alexa-avs-sample-app
thanks
-
@zman3 yeah it does, it also works with https://echosim.io/welcome?next=%2F
-
@joanaz cool so I know nothing about this stuff when I’m getting the aws-iot-device-sdk do I want the java version or javascript?
-
@zman3 you just need to do “npm install”, then the package.json will install the sdk (assuming you have npm installed on ur computer). It’s the JavaScript version.
-
will it work with a echo dot? sending comands to the mirror?
