      Hello,

I am trying to build my MagicMirror and I am having trouble getting the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B set up.

I used the automatic installation and followed the instructions but I can’t get the interface started somehow.

      I get this error message:

      MagicMirror installation successful!
      pi@raspberrypi:~/MagicMirror $ npm start

      > magicmirror@2.1.1 start /home/pi/MagicMirror
      > sh run-start.sh

npm ERR! Make sure you have the latest version of node.js and npm installed.
npm ERR! If you do, this is most likely a problem with the magicmirror package,
npm ERR! not with npm itself.
npm ERR! Tell the author that this fails on your system:
      npm ERR! sh run-start.sh
npm ERR! You can get information on how to open an issue for this project with:
      npm ERR! npm bugs magicmirror
npm ERR! Or if that isn't available, you can get their info via:
npm ERR! npm owner ls magicmirror
npm ERR! There is likely additional logging output above.

npm ERR! Please include the following file with any support request:
      npm ERR! /home/pi/MagicMirror/npm-debug.log

When I reboot the Pi, it gets me to the login screen. And when I want to start it manually, the error message above is shown.

Thank you in advance for helping me.

            Hi. Can you do

            sudo cat /home/pi/MagicMirror/npm-debug.log

and post some of that code?

@hartattack yes I have, I even launched the automatic installation couple times to be sure.

              Check current Node installation ...
Node currently installed. Checking version number.
              Minimum Node version: v5.1.0
              Installed Node version: v6.10.2
              No Node.js upgrade nessecery.
It seems like MagicMirror is already installed.
To prevent overwriting, the installer will be aborted.
Please rename the ~/MagicMirror folder and try again.

I think I found the problem ! It was a problem with Electron. I followed some advice giving in this thread: https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/issues/145

“running “sudo npm install electron” (after the error message) in the terminal on the gui it worked starting in the terminal on the gui.”
