Thanks for you reply.
Take a look at this
https://shop.max2play.com/de/audio-boards/by-type/amp.html
in this case the hifiberry is way cheaper. i guess the postage to Austria would kill it again ;)The more features should make the difference. Good point.
I am using a pi3 with the Amp2 and the original 7" Rasp Display. Thats working without issues. If you use third party or HDMI it might be tight.The Flick is a interesting little thing :)
Pretty sure it will work on the Hifiberry too, since you only need to plug it on the GPIO pins.How do you want to use the Amp on your mirror?
How do you want to stream the sound to the pi? -
@barnosch
Max2play is the shop that sells it on Amazon too. Postage is 13,99€ to Austria via DHL Express. There aren’t many shops selling amps for the pi.Yeah the flick will be great, I want an easy contactless way to change volume when I’m in the bathroom (for the first). So any button or rotary switch with wet hands could be problematic, so I searched for an contactless way. I’ll try the flick and will inform you about the performance.
Streaming:
I use spotify (https://github.com/dtcooper/raspotify). Raspotify is great cause it is easy to use and runs stable. The advantage of raspotify is everyone can stream on it (not only one account). Like Amazon Alexa when you say: “Alexa spotify connect”, everybody can connect to the echo. -
Alright. nice.
I am using two “max2play” Speaker combinations, to have a Multiroom System. Music is streamed from a Fritzbox attached harddisk.
The mirror has’nt got to do something with it, yet.
Still searching for a MM module that implements the current playing song on each player.
Like the Sonos module.I am pretty sure, i will find soon something where i can use the Flick thing aswell ;)
So i am looking forward to hear, how good it is actually working. -
The Flick HAT arrived today, freshly from the UK 😁
Two pics added:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m5q29musCxpbcteoCT_oVEkI1ybnOefM/view?usp=drivesdkI thought it would be a bit bigger. Can’t wait to test it after work 🤗

@schlachtkreuzer6 looks like the same technology as the skywriter hat that i bought a while ago, there is also a larger version of both.
-
@strawberry-3.141
Yep you are right. Same PCB layout and Chip. So there are the same. -
Updated the main post, added some media :)
-
@schlachtkreuzer6 I was a bit shocked by the amount of cables :D
-
@strawberry-3.141
Haha I know me too. I am in a debugging mode :D okay okay I don’t have any 2x20 header left that is long enough to stack every thing together^^ and before I start with soldering I want to test if everything workes well. In the end it was a good idea, cause the flick stop working after some time. Have to figure it out why…But with all that cables it looks like an super crazy syfy quantum computer :D

@schlachtkreuzer6 I’m really interested in your result, as I bought my large skywriter hat half a year ago and never unpackaged it lol
