I bought this film the other day, should have it this week.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290756560949?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITApparently they use it in dance studios etc where mirror is too expensive so i’m hoping it works quite well. I’ll be sure to post the results.

@AlexMelb let me know when you post the results, I am looking for a mirror to cover my 10.1" touchscreen.

Well it took… oh wow, 2 months haha, but okay! I have actually found someone in Melbourne who will provide and cut to size some good quality mirror glass. Prices seem very reasonable too, $100 quote for a piece that will suit a 24 inch monitor (with room to spare around the edges). I’ve just picked up my order and it looks gooooddd (see image, and pardon the face xD)
You can contact them at www.msglass.com.au, and they supply MirrorKote which can have either a grey or silver coating. Silver definitely looks best.
Can’t wait to build a frame around this bad boy!

@inversation
Nice reflections and still a good quality of the text behind the mirror in the lower half. I guess the upper part is blurry because of your cameras focus and the missing enclosure and too much backlight? -
@yawns you’re spot on, it looks good in person, but right now that mirror is just resting against the monitor, which itself is still fully assembled.
I got a sample piece which I held against the screen directly and it’s absolutely crisp, so once this has an enclosure and is mounted properly, it should look even better.

I added this topic:

PS. Very nice mirrors there!

@inversation thanks for the supplier details. just curious what size is your mirror?
-
@bellroy my mirror suits a 24 inch monitor, so I asked for a piece that was 365 x 590 mm (to allow some room around the edges).

@inversation what aspect ration if your monitor size? 16:9 ?
