I like to present you the build of my MagicMirror, it measures 65cm x 150cm and its based on a Nissedal Mirror from Ikea.
The Mirror it self is from a Swiss Company (Glass Trösch). The Screen is a Philips Essence LCD TV 42PES0001D, to support the thin mirror from Ikea and to mount the TV, I`v made a wood frame around it.

It works really good and i will make the Design of the mirror in the near future.

    Regards
    Marc

      Hi mfasi

What did you do with the Ikea Mirror to make it transparent?

He just used the frame and inserted a mirror pane from “Glass Trösch” (Switzerland).

What did you do to remove the original glass? I’ve bought one for myself, but unsure how to remove the glass the best possible way. Your project looks great!

@petre the best way to remove the glass ist to cut of the withe silicon. I’ve made it with a swissarmy knife :grinning: . Bit be carful with the frame, it isn’t made of real wood! The little brackets can you easy pull out. Feel free to ask :ok_hand_tone1:

                  Hi Marc
How much did you pay for the “Glass Trösch” oneway-mirror?
I live in Zurich too and thinking about building a smart mirror. Not exactly sure with frame I’m going to take. Nissedal or Ribba from Ikea.
                  Cheers
