MMM-AssistantMk2 Problem with Blackscreen
-
Hello, I would like to use the google assistant on my Magic Mirror. I installed the module, logged in to googel and updated the config file.
{ module: "MMM-AssistantMk2", position: "top_left", config: {} },if I restart now the magic mirror comes simply only a black screen without error message. If the code is removed from the config then the magic mirror works normally again.
I have the module: MMM-Hotword not installed can it be due? Do I have to install the module at all? I would be enough if I could activate the mirror with “Hello Google”.
If someone could help me with my problem I would be very happy.
Greeting Volker

NODE_MODULE_VERSION 59. This version of Node.js requires

First, For more details (error logs) are needed. Seenpm start devresult orpm2 show log
Second,MMM-AssistantMk2itself has no awakening method except a smiple mic-icon clicking. It should be activated by other trigger (e.g: hotword detection from MMM-Hotword, or some notification from other module)
And last, “Hello Google” or “Ok Google” hotword is not supported by SNOWBOY Hotword detection engine (MMM-Hotword) by itself.

I’ll try that out. Thanks for the quick help so far

now the magic mirror starts normally. Many thanks for the help

Can you please share the config file used for MMM-AssistantMk2. I am also getting same black screen issue with cursor. What step you took for solving this issue.

@sunilkvr
{
module: “MMM-AssistantMk2”,
position: “top_right”,
config: {
useWelcomeMessage: “brief today”
}
},this simple config should work just for testing and making sure the module loads.
I ended up fixing mine by rolling back to grpc 1.2 and gcc7 then rebuilding the binaries. Took about an hour on my pi 2, but its up and running now.
