Let’s start with your second problem. When you say “when trying to boot the config file” do you mean open the config file? Did you already make a copy of the config.js.sample and rename it to config.js? It looks as if you’re attempting to make a copy of the config.js file, so cp config should be cp config.js.

There’s an easier way to accomplish this if you are not familiar with terminal commands. This will walk you through that.

@mykle1 I don’t think I made a copy and yes I’m trying to open the config file as the tutorial says

I type npm start and get a error.

          Run-start.sh: 4: run-start.sh: electron: not found

Ok, I assume you ran npm start in the MagicMirror directory and received that error. This is a fairly common problem. The installation of dependencies fails at times to install electron properly.

            1. From your desktop(GUI) go to MagicMirror/node_modules folder. Inside this folder you will find the electron folder. Delete the electron folder.

            2. Now, open a terminal and type cd MagicMirror and enter. Now, in the MagicMirror directory type npm install and enter.

            This SHOULD install electron.

Not one? I think you never installed your dependencies at all. No matter, still run npm install in the MagicMirror directory to install ALL of your dependencies
