Many times I can not find the time to sit in front of my Raspberry and work on my MagicMirror … and I think this is the situation of a lot of you!
Is it possible to virtualize/emulate our MagicMirror? In this way it would be easy to develop as soon as we have a few minutes of free time!

I saw that months ago, another user (@Nikhil) had posted my same question but no one had answered …

Re: how to run magic mirror on raspberry pi desktop at virtual box

    Can someone help us?

    Thanks.

@egnos well, you could use ubuntu under VB or VMWare or Windows Virtual…

then push the changes to your pi later

@sdetweil Yes this is what I also did!
I just installed a Debian Desktop and downloaded and installed MagicMirror on it manually. I got the same results, but the performance was better on my PC compared to the RPi even in a low configured VM :D

@radokristof yes, PC are much faster than pi… but bigger too!

I’m using my macbook to develop or test MM. Except for few modules and some HW specific features, that is enough. I think any *nix machine also be good enough to test.

I use Pixel Desktop Image inside of virtualbox, which works great for me.
