Is there a way to temporarily disable a module?
-
I installed MMM PIR Sensor and I installed MMM-ModuleScheduler thinking I can disable the PIR function at certain times. I see now that while you can control show and hide of modules you dont have the option to turn them off. Was wondering if there was a way to disable a module somehow?
-
@teitlebot add
disabled: true,
to the modules in your config.js filefor example:
{ disabled: true, module: "MMM-KitchenTimer", position: "top_center", config: { volume: 1 } },
change it to false to re-enable the module…
-
@justjim1220 he meant on the fly, while MM is running
-
@sdetweil that’s right.
I’m going to guess there is no way to do it. -
@teitlebot why is hide not enough?
-
@sdetweil Because im trying to have the PIR sensor not turn off the screen during certain times. Hiding the module doesnt stop it from working.
-
@teitlebot sorry, do not understand…
those are two different things…
i hide modules to make my screen sleep… (can’t power off tv)…
you could extend the PIR module to ignore the sensor during the time u want it to stay on
-
@sdetweil how would I extend the module? I’m not really a coder but I can follow a guide.
-
@teitlebot you would have to add some code the check the current time against a stat/stop time you would add to the configuration.

Hi,
Did anyone find a solution to this ?
I’m looking to use a PIR so that if it detects motion it “Deactivates” the “MMM-PlexSlideshow” module.
Then when it doesnt detect motion it will reactivate the “MMM-PlexSlideshow” module to create a digital picture frame when someone doesnt step in front of the mirror.
Cheers
D
