Mic array PLUS Other sensor ? possible ?
-
Hi ,
Since the mic array uses all port from the pi . ( GPIO etc since it’s a simple connector )
How can you do to add an additional PIR sensor to it? how do you connect it once the mic is connected?
I guess it is a choice to make right? Or Mic array or other sensor…?Thank you

I am interested in the same … I think that you can just solder on top of the header of the mic array … but let’s somebody confirm that.

any reason you don’t use a usb mic?

@dxfan227 sensitivity of the far-field microphones …

can you elaborate on this a bit more…I am just starting my mirror with zero coding background but want to incorporate the assistant and hot word. I assumed I would use a regular usb mic or a webcam with a mic…what alternatives should I be looking for?

@dxfan227 read this topic: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/7035/boosting-usb-mic-or-best-mic-choice/2 depending on your project goals, the USB mic might be a good option, but if the primary use would be voice assistant, then I recommend the mic array.
