@humdinger44 you can now run two instances to get both charts
git pull in the module folder if already installed

-
@sdetweil I got it working this morning after your latest update. Thanks for making this, its exactly what i was hoping for.
-
@humdinger44 cool… some country names with spaces (or popular abbreviations) need special handling… so if u find one that doesn’t display, let me know
the US data is reported under ‘United_States_of_America’, which no one would ever use…
so I have handling for US, USA, and “United States”this will refresh about 2am next day… (if u keep your system running all day)
-
@sdetweil one thing i did do on my system is switch your background color from ‘black’ to ‘transparent’ because that works a little better with my setup.
Thanks again
-
@humdinger44 yeh, I have images displayed and the chart washes out in transparent mode, but thats why I added the setting
oops… didn’t add that to the doc
in config
backgroundColor: ‘???’ color name/id/value -
@humdinger44 also, if u have a mouse on the system , you should be able to hover over the line and see the raw numbers used
-
@humdinger44 I just posted fixes for resume from sleep when multiple module instances are running (and multiple browsers watching screen)
git pull in module folder to update, no config changes
added backgroundColor config to doc -
@sdetweil @humdinger44 another set of fixes for handling names with spaces and not found names (no crash)
added abbrev for UK (instead of ‘United_Kingdom’)
‘United Kingdom’ works (notice space vs underscore) -
another fix to erase the downloaded file,
u can cleanup by erasing the xlsx files
rm ~/MagicMirror/*.xlsx -
another update, NOW refresh will work! sorry
-
@sdetweil This really is great. If you can easily add a individual states (US) I would like to see how my state is doing compared to the national numbers. Its obviously not realistic to display 50 states at once but one or two would be nice. If its a whole big thing don’t worry about it
-
@humdinger44 the data source I have doesn’t have areas inside countries, so I cannot add that
refresh is broken(I guessed new data would be available at 2am, wasn’t until 7am! oops)… testing fix now
-
update for refresh when no data available, keep trying!
-
another fix for refresh (starting after midnight , but no data available yet left a blank display)…
also fixed to add two more charts
new cases and new deaths by day
new cases for the US ‘may’ show effect of distancing… need more days
(or maybe not, one day drop)todays data, 2020-03-26, is still not yet posted…(as of 8:40 am central time us)
2020-03-26 data has arrived, 08:56 us central time, (and update worked!)
-
@sdetweil kind of a simple question, but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the color of the dates, and the countries names to white?? I looked everywhere and tried my custom css file to no avail…
-
@almostgithub >change the color of the dates, and the countries names to white??
sorry, don’t understand… they are white already (not bright white)
I currently don’t provide access to those settings…
this is all controlled by the charting library I am using…
I would have to add settings to enable access -
@almostgithub Ok I’ve added some.
git pull in the module folder,
here are the things u can set… will get to the doc in the morning
legendTextColor:'white', chartTitleColor: 'white', chart_title: '', xAxisLabel:"by date", xAxisLabelColor:'white', xAxisTickLabelColor:'white', yAxisLabel:"Count", yAxisLabelColor:'white', yAxisTickLabelColor:'white', -
@sdetweil oh wow! Thanks so much, thats awesome!! They are grey on my mirror and makes it hard to read the legend and dates.
edit: after a git pull and npm install, it seems to be stuck on MyCovid19 Loading data for chart “cumulative_deaths”
edit: Saw this in the issues tab, will ask there
-
new update, data source changed … after git pull, need to run npm install again to update the library used to read the data (csv instead of xlsx)
-
@sdetweil can you drop an example of the config for two graphs displayed at once?
Edit: nevermind, I was overthinking it.
