Aborting”1)How do i solve this?
2) What caused this “package-lock.json”?
3) Anyway to remove this package permanently? -
@KumarTRD said in Unable to update modules:
package-lock.json
erase the package-lock.json and then git pull again, and npm install
-
@sdetweil I’ve tired to run rm package-lock.json but tells me there is no active directory.
-
@KumarTRD you are in the module folder, right?
cd ~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-Todoist rm package-lock.json
-
this file is rebuilt each time by npm install
but it is also included in the git repo for this module, it should not be -
@sdetweil correct Sam but do I run the rm package-lock.json in the module folder or in cd /MagicMirror folder? I haven’t tried it in the module folder

in the module folder, thats where you were when u got the error
-
@sdetweil it looks like it’s present in all my modules because I get the same error when attempting to up those as well and my MagicMirror software as well. Any way to complete remove it ?
-
@KumarTRD every module that has a package.json file and uses the step npm install will have a lock file.
but as I said, it should NOT have been included in the git package, because it produces this error, and prevents users from moving forward -
@sdetweil ok I’ll give it a try thanks for your assistance.
