    Hello, Im looking forward to start a magic mirror project. What would be the best raspberry pi to buy in order to do it.

    My aim is to build a magic mirror with microphone and movement sensors. With a power cord directly connected to the wall.

      @DiogoSekeira 4 or 3… newest, most powerful first, 4… on a tight budget, go to 3.

      as u decide what to add, 3 will run out of power 1st…

        @DiogoSekeira :

        it all depends on what you wanted to do with it

        • running MagicMirror without complex module RPI2 or RPI3 could be ok
          sample of complex module:

          • displaying video (youtube, TV) take a lot of ressource
          • module with a lot of animated picture (take a lot of cpu time)
          • personnal assistant (Google Assistant / alexa) take a lot of RAM
          • –> it’s limited +/- to default module
        • running MagicMirror with some complex module: RPI3B+ (minimal) / RPI4 (is really better) version: 2Gb min

          • you can do practically what you want ;)
          • playing video/TV
          • assistants
          • animated picture
          • any module as you want

        For me the good choice for a mirror is RPI4 (I have 2Gb version)

              @Bugsounet I was aiming for a low budget, and i can get the RPI3B+ at 40 bucks, but the RPI4 at 70, so if the RPI3B+ could fulfill the necessities that I need then i would rather have that one.

                    youtube without voice activating ??? not sure it’s possible, or so just on start the mirror but it’s ridiculus

                    In all case, i think RPI3B+ can works for you :)
                    @sdetweil ?

                      @Bugsounet Yes i mean to use voice activation. If im not able to will just use buttons of some sort or a keyboard, wich is kind of lame. But right now im just looking at what model can fully satisfy my needs.
