What's the best RasPi to use to make a magic mirror at the moment and why?
-
@DiogoSekeira CPU power to run apps. same thing @Bugsounet said
-
@Bugsounet I was aiming for a low budget, and i can get the RPI3B+ at 40 bucks, but the RPI4 at 70, so if the RPI3B+ could fulfill the necessities that I need then i would rather have that one.
-
what do you want to do with it ?
-
@sdetweil @Bugsounet oh i get it now. I just ment to run magic mirror with youtube, calendar, weather forecast and try to implement voice activation and or movement sensors
-
youtube without voice activating ??? not sure it’s possible, or so just on start the mirror but it’s ridiculus
In all case, i think RPI3B+ can works for you :)
@sdetweil ? -
@Bugsounet Yes i mean to use voice activation. If im not able to will just use buttons of some sort or a keyboard, wich is kind of lame. But right now im just looking at what model can fully satisfy my needs.
-
@Bugsounet yes, that should work on 3b+
-
for voice using, you have to buy a USB Mic (eq 10$)
I use this
-
@Bugsounet and of course for YouTube your monitor/tv needs speakers
-
@sdetweil @Bugsounet I will buy the rpib+. Have you guys developed a mirror of your own? Have you got any experience in this subject?
