I have a Raspberry Pi Zero W and have installed a fresh image of Raspbian Jesse 20017-07-05. Rebooted. Configured WiFi. Changed default password. Set Time , Timezone, Locale. Rebooted.
Then opened a terminal window and copied and pasted the command in the first post to install MM2. Install progressed and I recieved the message Cloning MagicMirror Done! Then I received an error “Unable to install dependencies” . I am using an 8 Gig MicroSD card.
I changed directories to MagicMirror to look for the install.log file, but I cannot find one to upload. -
@BD0G said in Anyone want to try updated installer...:
Then I received an error “Unable to install dependencies” .
install.log is in /home/pi the messages from the installer say that (at the beginning)
cause the MagicMirror folder doesn’t exist yetone other user has experienced this, (mrdenmark, he posted a bunch right before you), and it was the memory card…

I have ordered a new Micro SD card -16 Gig Class 10 card. That should be large enough and fast enough I imagine. I will repeat the steps to image and use your installer once it arrives. 2 Days from now (Gotta love Amazon Prime).
I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the information.

New Micro SD Card Arrived. I imaged it with Raspian Jesse and attempted the install of Magic Mirror from the command posted in the first post. Same Error.
Unable to install dependencies.
Here is a link to the install.log file in my dropbox account.

I would appreciate some assistance with troubleshooting this issue.

@BD0G don’t see the link
-
@sdetweil
I was having an issue uploading , but finally got it. I modified my post above to include it. -
-
@BD0G ok, give it a try, same installer script command
seems they pulled ANY install support for node on armv6l devices… have to do it manually…
now works good on my pi 0 w
-
So I discovered a bug! Yipeee! I will run the installer again from the first post in this thread and post results!
I am making the assumption that I do not have to delete the Magic Mirror directory and sub -directories so I will just install over them. Its a good way to enjoy the morning coffee. Thanks for putting in effort!
-
@BD0G no… the installer wants to start fresh… just rename the folder out of the way…
you can copy any things you added from old to new
-
It looks like the script realizes that Magic Mirror is already installed and presents a message on screen noting that. I am going to delete the Magic Mirror Directory and sub-directories and run the script again. Pretty slick!
-
@BD0G yes, correct
-
I ran it again and same error. Unable to install dependencies. It indicates CXXABI_1.3.9 not found and GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not found
Here is the new log file in my dropbox
-
@BD0G cool, another unexpected thing… node -v returned nothing!
try again please
-
I’m on it!
-
Same error. New Install.log file here
-
@BD0G can u do node -v from command line
also , echo $PATH
