Magic Mirror updated now doesnt work
-
@sdetweil I mean when I updated my to 2.10 that’s when all the problem started. Before updating my I installed mmm remote control now I don’t know if that module has caused this issue of me not being able to access magic mirror remotely.
-
@bachoo786 ok. we need to see the front end console log thru the dev window
-
@sdetweil ok I can conclude one thing is that I cannot access my mirror from another device at home. My mirror is working but it’s not accessible from a different device. Something is blocking it or stopping it within the mirror.
My config hasn’t changed and its after the update that I cannot access it from another device.
-
@sdetweil any idea?

i’m not sure I understand what you said…
access is a vague term
ssh is part of access
load mirror on browser is part of access
ftp files is part of accessI THINK what you meant was
the mirror app is running, and u can see it.
but you cannot use a browser on another machine to pull up the the same view…so, can we see your config.js.
I ‘think’ this is the change to address: “”,
which is supposed to default to “localhost”,
but DID default to 0.0.0.0 -
@sdetweil there you go:
var config = { address: "", // Address to listen on, can be: // - "localhost", "127.0.0.1", "::1" to listen on loopback interface // - another specific IPv4/6 to listen on a specific interface // - "", "0.0.0.0", "::" to listen on any interface // Default, when address config is left out, is "localhost" port: 8181, ipWhitelist: [], // Set [] to allow all IP addresses // or add a specific IPv4 of 192.168.1.5 : // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.1.5"$ // or IPv4 range of 192.168.3.0 --> 192.168.3.15 use CIDR format$ // ["127.0.0.1", "::ffff:127.0.0.1", "::1", "::ffff:192.168.3.0/$ language: "en", timeFormat: 24, units: "metric", // customCss: 'css/custom.css', modules: [ // { // module: "alert", // },

@bachoo786 said in Magic Mirror updated now doesnt work:
address: “”, < — means ONLY the local system can connect
change to
address: “0.0.0.0”,means whitelist controls who can connect
-
@sdetweil omg that worked !!! I remember before there was no need to put any thing. How come its changed?
Anyway I have another problem, my home assistant module keeps on turning on and off like rapidly. It never used to do that before.
-
@bachoo786 we found a security gap. The doc says, if not specified, it is localhost. But we allowed anyone.
Home assistant on/off what does that mean? Show me the two logs.
I will be away for a few hours
-
@sdetweil sorry which 2 logs?
