      @sdetweil said in Update MMM:

      @mattx38 do

      cd ~/MagicMirror
      git checkout package.json

I did it but the command did not return any information.

          I did the “npm install”.
I fixed 2 moderate vulnerabilities and it still remains 8 low severity vulnerabilities.

I don’t get if this can have consequences or not.

No, the mirror stays black with the mouse arrow in the left upper corner.
              I did a reboot and a “pm2 restart mm”, but nothing works…

                pm2 stop mm
                cd ~/magicMirror
                npm start dev
alt-spacebar, n to minimize MM,… any messages on the terminal window?
select the MM window to reopen, select the console, and scroll up to see if any errors…
there is a fatal one somewhere

Yes there is an error in red :

[2020-04-01 22:06:21.797] [ERROR] WARNING! Could not load config file. Starting with default configuration. Error found: Error: The module ‘/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-PIR-Sensor/node_modules/epoll/build/Release/epoll.node’
was compiled against a different Node.js version using
                  NODE_MODULE_VERSION 64. This version of Node.js requires
                  NODE_MODULE_VERSION 73. Please try re-compiling or re-installing
the module (for instance, using npm rebuild or npm install).

and other errors still with PIR module, but the errors are written in white

                  EDIT : I try a “npm rebuild” ?

@mattx38 pir is a pain in the rear… I would disable it in config.js for now

                    add

                    disabled:true,

                    after module:“MMM-PIR-Sensor”,

@mattx38 for hotword, from the hotword doc, try
                            in the MMm_Hotword folder

                            git clone https://github.com/Kitt-AI/snowboy.git
                            cd snowboy
                            rm -rf .git
                            cp -r resources/models ..
                            npm install -y nan node-pre-gyp
                            ./node_modules/node-pre-gyp/bin/node-pre-gyp clean configure build
                            npm install -y
                            npm install -y electron-rebuild
                            ./node_modules/.bin/electron-rebuild

its because electron changed versions… some modules are compiled at certain node and electron versions
if u change the versions (how would u know), then these modules break… Hotword and PIR are two such modules…

@mattx38 no issue… the ‘default’ instructions don’t consider all the other things that will break.

even my upgrade script does not handle these problems… as they are so module specific…

my french is a LOT worse than your english!..

                                            Ok I understand.
I saw a message on the Remote Control module github and it seams there is also a problem with it after the MMM update.

My MagicMirror was running as a charm till this update. I saw the alert on the MM screen so I did it… what a shame
