    can't run "npm run start"

      @jefftse are u doing this over vnc without a real display?

      the start script assumes a real display
      change the package.json start to match your config

          "start": "DISPLAY=\"${DISPLAY:=:0}\" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js",
      

      the start command is

      npm start

        I tried both. I even deleted the whole folder and reinstalled. Maybe electron is the problem.

          @jefftse no, change the line in package.json
          from

           "start": "DISPLAY=\"${DISPLAY:=:0}\" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js",
          

          to

           "start": "./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js",
          

          the error is " cannot open display: :0.0" typically, DISPLAY:0 is the physical display

            just did that and the error is below

              @jefftse still trying to open display 0

              what is the vnc display number? do

              env | grep -i display

                    @sdetweil yes, in fact, i had it all working yesterday till I accident broken my sd card. I had to rebuild everything today.

                        @sdetweil sure did. I had to create an user to run your script since it wouldn’t allow me to do in root

                            @sdetweil correct, and I created an user for the install. the install went fine. I just can’t run it!

                              raspian installs and starts with user pi

                                @sdetweil you are running under the same user as during install time, right?

                                  @sdetweil i think i got it working. I deleted everything and run your script again in “pi” user.

                                  one question, I just enabled auto start and how do i disable it ? I need to config the config file
