      Hi Guys,

I am looking into building a touch enabled smart mirror (24 inches active surface). I have been looking into projected capacitive touch films to apply to the back of the glass.

I was wondering if anybody had any tips and/or suggested film’s manufacturers.

      Thanks in advance

      Francesco

Hi, Did you buy any film yet? I am looking into buying one from aliexpress but the descriptions have me thrown. they often say 2 touch / multi touch 4. 6. 10 available but then the pictures don’t really show capacitive abilities. I have tried contacting 2 vendors without success. I am looking for a 27" film myself.

Gotta be careful… I just ordered a 6 point IR frame but it’s only 1 point touch under Linux.

@spacevolt number of points beside, metal coated mirrors and capacitive touch don’t really mix.
I learn that the hard way.

@cowboysdude yeah, the spec descriptions are not easy to understand. Have found myself reading them over and over haha

@broberg might be a dumb suggestion, would it work if you added a 1mm of clear acrylic film in between the mirror and touch film?

@spacevolt no, the layer that distorts the electrostatic field readings (the metal coating on the mirror) are still in between the foil and your finger. The board thinks you basically sat your naked ass on the foil 😃
