Tips on powering the Pi
-
I am just looking for others ideas on how to power the PI and monitor, so that I only have one power cord going down the wall. Thanks!
-
Monitor cord and pi power supply are stored inside the mirror housing
-
I use one of these: NextGadget 3-Port USB Desk Charger. USB ports are powered strongly enough for the Pi, and it powers the monitor via the AC plug.
Only downside: the cord itself is only about 4 feet long. So if your mirror isn’t going right over an electrical outlet, you may have to wire in an extension cord yourself.

Just to give an alternative to what others are saying: my monitor has built-in USB ports, and I’m powering my pi from that just fine. So the only cord I have is the single power cord going into the monitor.

@Atheose Which monitor are you using?
